The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government initiative designed to support people living with permanent and significant disabilities to live more independently, achieve their goals, and participate fully in their communities.
ExpThe NDIS provides eligible participants with individualised funding for supports and services that are considered reasonable and necessary, including personal care, community access, therapeutic supports, Supported Independent Living (SIL), Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), support coordination, and capacity building services. The scheme is governed under the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 and regulated by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
